Knutshøe – 1517 m – can be seen when looking south from Besseggen over the Gjendehøe. Car park on the road, about 3 km south of Maurvangen. A long, narrow summit. We set off to climb it via the ridge to the east. It’s quite steep, but not too difficult for the most part, but there are a couple of places where you need to look for secure handholds. Descent via the west ridge without any climbing. The north and south slopes descend quite steeply, so it’s best to stick to the clearly visible path marked with red dots.
Return via Leirungsdalen on the south side of Knutshøe. But it’s the views from Knutshøe to Leirungsdalen that are most impressive in early autumn. You don’t need a drone to take photos!
You should allow 5 hours for the tour, with a 762 m ascent.
