As is so often the case, and not just with mountain ranges in Norway, uncertain weather dominates the decisions that have to be made when choosing a hike. Jotunheimen is no exception.
We are located in the east of Jotunheimen, a few kilometres north of Beitostølen, a village well known to cross-country skiers.
Near Bygdin, the path to Bitihorn starts from the car park on the road. You climb from 1052 metres to 1607 metres on a marked path to the summit in well under two hours.
It is windy, not warm, the rain threatens, but spares us…
The view is magnificent, from the marshes at the foot of the mountain to the atmosphere of the cloudy sky at the summit!
