desert ?
Many tourists would certainly tend to answer this question in the affirmative, since the tourism industry has become fully established around Merzouga: from guided excursions on camelback to 4×4 tours, not forgetting quad or buggy hire… everything is on offer.
This makes it all the more difficult to take photos of virgin dunes: everywhere there are footprints and tyre tracks in the sand, cars and their passengers trailing in the background (I almost wrote “running”, but it’s too hot for that).
