Let’s go to Fitz Roy

Hiking Fitz Roy

The mountain scene of Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre, at the foot of which is the small Argentine town El Chaltén,is one of the most fascinating on the planet. El Chaltén was founded on October 12, 1985 to be one step ahead of the border dispute with Chile.

You can explore a lot with a few day hikes.

Hiking aroud Fitz Roy on mostly marked hiking trails is given as about 30 km. Depending on the daily workload, 3 or 4 days should be planned.

The first ascent to the summit dates back to 1952, and to get to the top of the Fitz Roy is still considered one of the most difficult climbing tours ever.
