Lofoten in Winter

I have, since 1980, been more than fifteen times in Norway mainly during July and August Many of those included afew days to a couple of weeks on Lofoten Islands. And always I discovered nice places to stay, to hike, to take interesting picures.
But the two weeks in March 2015 on Austvågøy and Vestvågøy have been an absolute highlight.
We arrived by plane (from Zürich with stops in Oslo and Bodø) to Svolvaer. We stayed in one of the beautiful cabins at Hammerstad Camping. Just sitting here and looking out the window and we had a fantastic view over the fjord towards Stormolla. This could have been enough for two weeks. But of course, we moved a lot around:
The weather forecast hadn’t been good at all, but, if there have been some really lousy clouds around, it wasn’t ever long before some sunshine came through, and the light was as good as perfect!
Rediscovering Lofoten, where I had so often been in summer, hiking, snowshoeing, driving around and, last but not least, filling compact flash memory cards … just take a look at some of the pictures…

Do you want to see some more Lofoten pictures, maybe as 80 x 60 cm prints?
